The Department of Natural Resources and Conservation (DNRC), Kalispell Unit, is proposing to reinitiate the use of a group camping area located on the outskirts of Elmo, MT. The site in question is approximately 7 acres and would be licensed on a daily basis for groups to host events such as family reunions, youth group retreats, etc. This site was historically used in this manner and all work done on the site would be done to improve existing camping/RVing areas. The State Trust Land in question is Section 18, Township 24 North, Range 21 West. The DNRC is interested to know any issues or concerns you may have. A 14-day comment period provides the public an opportunity to become involved at the initial stage of this project.
