NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON FY19 BUDGET AMENDMENTS The Polson City Commission will conduct a public hearing on January 6, 2020 at 7:00 pm in the City Hall Commission Chambers for the purpose of amending the FY 2018-2019 budget pursuant to Montana law at MCA 7-6-4021. Any taxpayer or resident may appear at the meeting and be heard for or against any part of the proposed budget amendments. The City Commission will take action immediately following the public hearing to approve the resolution to amend the fiscal year 2018-2019 budget. The proposed budget amendments are on file and open to inspection in the office of the City Clerk at City Hall, 106 1st St. East, Polson, Montana. Notice of January 28th Countywide Special Election, Counting of Provisional Ballots, Public Test and County Canvass Notice is hereby given by the Lake County Election Administrator that the Countywide Special Election will be held on Tuesday, January 28th, 2020 by mail ballot. Ballots will be mailed on January 8, 2020 to active status voters only. Ballots may be mailed or returned to the Election Office at 106 4th Ave E, Polson, MT 59860 between the hours of 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM from January 8th - January 27th and 7:00 AM - 8:00 PM on Election Day, January 28th. The Election Office will be closed for a holiday on January 20th. Voted (signed) ballots must be in the Election Office by 8:00 PM on January 28th in order to be counted. Individuals will need to fill out a BIPA (Ballot Interference Prevention Act) registry form if they are dropping off someone else's ballot at the Lake County Election Office. An individual may return up to six (6) ballots, not including their own. Forms will be provided at the office or can be downloaded at www.lakemt.gov/election/election.html. Electors will consider the following: Shall the Lake County Commissioners be authorized to levy the amount of Two Million Five Hundred Thousand Dollars, ($2,500,000) annually, approximately 37.33 mills annually for a period of twenty years, to fund a Criminal Justice Facilities-Operations Levy? If approved, the yearly fiscal impact is estimated at: $50.40 on a home with a $100,000 market value; $100.79 on a home with a $200,000 market value; and $201.59 on a home with a $400,000 market value. PUBLIC OPPORTUNITY TO PROTEST TRANSFER OF OWNERSHIP OF MONTANA ALL-ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES LICENSE MORTON & COFFMAN LLC (STUART'S SERVICE CENTER, INC., DONALD COFFMAN, Owner(s)) has applied to transfer Montana All-Alcoholic Beverages License No. 15-865-3720-001 to be operated at MORTON AND COFFMAN, 77529 Us Highway 93, Saint Ignatius, Lake County. Examples of valid protest grounds include: (1) the applicant is unlikely to operate the establishment in compliance with the law; (2) the proposed location cannot be properly policed by local authorities; and (3) the welfare of the people in the vicinity of the proposed location will be adversely and seriously affected. How are protests submitted? Protests must be postmarked to the Department of Revenue, Office of Dispute Resolution, P.O. Box 5805, Helena, Montana 59604-5805 on or before January 12, 2020. What happens if the transfer is protested? Depending on the number of protests and the protest grounds, a public hearing will be held in Helena or Saint Ignatius. All valid protestors will be notified of the hearing's time, date and location. Hearings typically are scheduled within 90 days. A protester's hearing testimony is limited to the grounds in the protester's letter. Following the hearing, the Department of Revenue will notify the public whether the license transfer is approved or denied. How can additional information be obtained?
